Burgers – The best burgers in Belfast

Looking for the best burgers in Belfast? Lucky you – we’ve tried plenty of meat and baps around the city over the years and reckon we know a thing or two about the best burgers in town.

Burgers are no longer the sloppy and greasy fast food they once were – with fancy burger restaurants on an upward trend both in Belfast and beyond.

Here’s the burgers we think you should try in Belfast today:

The Barking Dog

Not primarily a burger place but its infamous for their ‘Shin Burger’. At a steep £18 it’s worth every penny, the meat just melts in your mouth and don’t even get me started about the cheese.

Tribal Burger

An amazing burger joint located on Botanic Avenue and recently also on Callender Street in the city centre. Amazing burgers with delicous topping and original home-made sauces (check out their pepper sauce and than me later). We are also a huge fan of their Buffalo wings- spicy and crispy what’s not to love?

This place started off in the south of Ireland and since doing so well it decided to open in Belfast and it has became SO popular- in fact on its first day of opening there was a queue outside! Why is it so popular you may ask? Well it does burgers and it does burgers well. Delicious and simple no fancy sauces or toppings- just nice burgers in a brioche bun with ketchup, american cheese and pickles. I am a big fan.

Pablos is a very, very cool place- not essentially a restaurant but not a takeaway. It’s connected to Muriels bar and it serves up the most amazing burgers cooked there in front of you. It doesn’t have any seats but I kind of like that- it adds to the character of the place. Its also very conveniently located in the cathedral- the perfect burger to gobble down after a few pints.

Five Guys

This place took NI by storm when it arrived a few years ago- now there’s a few doted around the place. They serve up tasty ‘american style’ burgers and fries washed down with a strawberry milkshake. A little on pricey side for a takeaway but always nice for a treat.

Again not primarily a burger place but this place is not to be missed- tacos, burgers and Margaritas, yes, yes and yes. They have an extensive burger menu to feast your eyes on- there is something for everyone, toppings galore! Also very good value and the burgers are huge!
